SkyScreamer, The Tallest Swing Ride in the World Opens at Six Flags Over Texas

SkyScreamer - Six Flags Over TexasDown in the Lone Star State, where everything is bigger, Six Flags Over Texas just opened the World’s Tallest Swing Ride with the opening of Texas SkyScreamer.

Texas SkyScreamer is Six Flags’ seventh towering swing ride. Setting a World record, it surpasses the Great Adventures and Georgia’s SkyScreamers by more than 150 feet. See wikipedia for a list of all of Six Flags’ SkyScreamers.

I enjoyed my ride on the similar SkyScreamer at Six Flags St. Louis and found them more thrilling than the WindSeekers that have popped up at Cedar Fair parks over the last few years. Riding the 236-foot tall version at the St. Louis park was unnerving enough as I felt very exposed with only those chains around me. I’d imagine rising up to 400-feet would be extremely thrilling. Not to mention the great view of the surrounding area (including the stadium of America’s Team!).

of course Six Flag’s America isn’t getting a SkyScreamer; They couldn’t possibly fit another attraction into their ircredibly packed line up of Flat rides…

Six Flags America still has tons of room. Putting a Sky Screamer in there is no problem. One example of an open plot of land is the former Two Face area.

I feel so greedy. My home park, SFOG, just got our Sky Screamer, and I already wish it was 400 feet tall like this one. Oh well, you can’t have it all.

Even though I know my home park of Six Flags Magic Mountain likes to break records when they install new rides, I’m not sure that’s one that can ever be beaten. I think I’m going to have to make another trip over to SFOT to experience that thrill!

ive ridden the both skyscreamer and the windseekers and yes the skyscreamers are more thrilling being they may drop down a few feet and rise back up while still in motion but i’d prefer the seeker in the event that the ride malfunction in air. I mean a little chain 400ft in the air vs a steel beam is heart renching lol

This ride is nucking futs. It looked so nice and relaxing from the ground but on the way up you are like pulling out the pen and paper to write your final wishes in hopes they are found in the debris of what was once your body
