SkyScreamer, The Tallest Swing Ride in the World Opens at Six Flags Over Texas
Down in the Lone Star State, where everything is bigger, Six Flags Over Texas just opened the World’s Tallest Swing Ride with the opening of Texas SkyScreamer.
Texas SkyScreamer is Six Flags’ seventh towering swing ride. Setting a World record, it surpasses the Great Adventures and Georgia’s SkyScreamers by more than 150 feet. See wikipedia for a list of all of Six Flags’ SkyScreamers.
I enjoyed my ride on the similar SkyScreamer at Six Flags St. Louis and found them more thrilling than the WindSeekers that have popped up at Cedar Fair parks over the last few years. Riding the 236-foot tall version at the St. Louis park was unnerving enough as I felt very exposed with only those chains around me. I’d imagine rising up to 400-feet would be extremely thrilling. Not to mention the great view of the surrounding area (including the stadium of America’s Team!).
