In 2018, Knott’s Berry Farm will open the West Coast’s first dive roller coaster in HangTime. After being pulled up 90-degree vertical lift hill, to a height of 150 feet, riders will plummet down a beyond-vertical 96-degree drop. Next, HangTime will twists riders upside-down via a number of loops, five in all.

An animated video hasn’t been released, but this video of ride that’s the same make and model (Gerstlauer Infinity), should give us a good idea of what to expect. For now, here’s a video of Monster at Adventureland:

Aha! I have ridden Monster at Adventureland AND Impulse at Knoebel’s, two very similar rides. I am often able to lure my “coaster junkies in training” friends onto these rides as they have a limited number of inversions, plus the entire ride is visible due to small footprints.
